All of our trees come with
complete instructions for planting and aftercare. All trees
are sent out in top condition and so it’s of real importance
to ensure that you understand how to care for your trees upon
receipt.
Trees need to be planted as soon as possible.
If this is not possible, then we recommend that you place the
tree outside in a sheltered spot and water it thoroughly until
you plant.
Choose an area where your tree will
have plenty of space to grow. Dig a planting hole in an open,
sheltered area, about twice the size of the pot; make sure it
is deep enough to take the whole rootball. Make sure the bottom
of the stem is level with the surrounding soil. Mix some Compost
or Peat into the soil before placing the tree into the hole.
Ensure your tree is as upright as possible and add some of the
soil back until flat and compact. With your feet stand either
side of the tree to compact the ground.
Make sure the tree is well staked into the ground and securely
tied to the stake; this will protect the tree from wind until
it has established .
For the first year we would recommend watering at least once
a week during the summer. However if it rains heavily, we would
recommend a reduction in the amount of water.
